Headmaster’s
Introduction
I am delighted to share with you the plans for an
exciting new Performing Arts facility at the heart of
our school and our town. A bold and ambitious project,
the new Performing Arts Centre will benefit future
generations of pupils at Oswestry School and those
from within the local community more broadly.
Our school enjoys a strong reputation for excellence in
the Performing Arts with pupils provided with
opportunities within - and beyond - the curriculum in
dance, drama, music and public speaking. The new
facility will enable us to develop and enhance our
provision and build on our reputation for excellence in
this area. More importantly, our ultimate objective is
for the new facility to benefit as many as possible, and
become a treasured and much-loved facility within the
town of Oswestry and our local community.
At a time when funding for the arts is being reduced at
a national level, our vision is rooted in the deep belief
in the fundamental importance of the Performing Arts
in the lives of children and young people; as a crucible
for creative expression, the new Performing Arts
Centre will provide opportunities for collaboration and
creativity, instil confidence and self-belief, and kindle
the sparks of invention and imagination. As Albert
Einstein once said, “Logic will take you from A to B.
Imagination will take you everywhere.”
Within this brochure we are pleased to share with you
the innovative designs from renowned architects Levitt
Bernstein and we likewise share with you ways in
which you can join us in the journey as fundraising
partners for the project. Having received full planning
permission and an initial catalyst donation of
£500,000 from our lead donor, the fundraising
campaign has got off to the very best of starts and we
remain on course for curtains up in September 2026.
The stage is set for an exciting new facility for our
school and our town, and with your help, we can look
forward to bringing the vision into reality.
